Basil whole freeze dried

 

Basil has a slightly acid bay leaf /peppery taste and smells a little bit like cloves. Basil is established firmly as an important ingredient in various Italian dishes like pizza and pasta sauces (pesto). It can also be used on salads and sliced tomatoes. Basil keeps its taste and flavour longer in whole than in ground form.
 
Freeze dried?
You can use freeze dried herbs like fresh herbs.
Freeze drying is a natural treatment to store fresh herbs longer without loss of taste. Through the use of very low temperatures the moisture is removed from the herbs. The essential oils, colour, structure and taste remain intact. What if freeze dried herbs come into contact with liquid like in soups, sauces or dressings? Than they reconstitute to their garden fresh characteristics!
