Pepper black Lampong whole

 

Black pepper is the spice that is used in nearly every dish.
Black pepper is harvested from the same plant as green and white pepper. The difference lies in the ripeness and the treatment. With black pepper the unripe green berry is dried in the sun and changes to its characteristic black colour and texture. This ground black pepper has a more raw pungent taste than white pepper simply because of the dried skin and the stage of ripeness.

Taste and flavour is kept longer in whole form than in ground.
