Cream coloured powder. Carrageenan is the group name, used for water soluble hydrocolloids, prepared by alkaline extraction (and modification) from red seaweed. Different seaweeds produce different carrageenans. Verogel is used because of the gelling and liquid binding characteristics. Also to be used in low fat products.
